Granny Wordsmith
A daily word game from Granny’s orchard
A gust of wind shakes apples off Granny’s tree, and every apple has a letter. Pick them, spell words, and bake pies before they hit the ground. A new orchard every day.
How to play
Three steps to help Granny bake her pies.

Pick
Slide your picker under a column and pick the lowest apple. Red apples are common, yellow ones are worth more, and green apples are rare and worth the most.

Spell
Line up letters into a word and take it. Short words go in Granny’s basket. Change your mind? Tap the last apple to put it back.

Bake
Words of four letters or more bake a pie. Be quick: the faster you spell, the bigger your bonus. Apples that hit the ground rot.
Something new every day
The same riddle and the same orchard for everyone, every day. Come back tomorrow for fresh apples.

Granny’s Riddle
A new riddle every day. Granny gives you a clue, like “What goes in my apple pie”, and hides a few words in one tree. Find them all before the apples hit the ground. Other real words you spell earn hints, and every day you solve it keeps your streak going.

Granny’s Pick
Three trees named for apple flavours: Sweet, Mild and Tart, easiest to hardest. Pick each tree clean in as few words as you can, try to beat Granny’s best score, and pick all three days in a row for a streak of its own.

Daily Arcade
Endless gusts that keep getting faster. Bake 12 pies for Granny, earn monthly ribbons, and chase today’s high score.

Challenge a friend
Write a riddle of your own, like Granny’s. Your friend gets your clue and a tree full of apples, and has to find your words before they hit the ground.
- Write a clue and 2 to 6 words it hints at: an inside joke, a trip you took, the names of the grandkids.
- Plant your tree. Granny hides your words in it and gives you a link.
- Send it. Your friend opens it in the app or right in their browser, and sees your words only once they’ve solved it.

Share your harvest
Share how you did without giving away the words. For the riddle: an apple for each word you found, a π‘ for each hint, and your time. For Granny’s Pick: your points, what rotted (π€), and a square for each word against Granny’s count. A β means you matched her best score, a π means you beat it.
“Come back tomorrow, dear. There’ll be fresh apples.”
